Fort Bend Christian Academy is accepting applications for an Upper School Physics Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  Bachelor’s degree is required, but an advanced degree is preferred.  The ideal candidate will have Advanced Placement (AP) teaching experience, extensive knowledge in the subject area, and a passion to teach and disciple young adults in secondary education.  Preference is given to candidates with at least two years’ experience.

 

The Upper School Physics Teacher will:

Scope of Responsibilities 

 

The Upper School Teacher will be expected to: 

• Teach, supervise, direct, and evaluate students in grade(s) and subject(s) as defined by the administration in a manner consistent with a Christian education and the philosophies of Fort Bend Christian Academy. 
• Teach and direct students safely in the lab and provide an environment to learn through exploration.
• Provide biblically integrated instruction consistent with the school’s “Statement of Faith” and “Declaration of Values.” 
• Model and promote exceptional academic instruction and learning. 
• Facilitate and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning. 
• Stimulate higher-level reasoning and critical thinking among students in the classroom. 
• Maintain communication with students and parents in a timely and professional manner. 
• Be available for help outside of the classroom. 
• Participate in extracurricular school activities such as club sponsorship, chaperoning dances and/or travel, occasionally helping with athletic and fine arts events, and attending some extracurricular school activities.
• Pursue opportunities for continuing teacher education and collaboration with professional colleagues. 
• Responsibly comply with and promote the unity and order of the school.
