Middle School Girls Basketball Coach - Stipend Coach
Reports to: Head of School/MS Principal/Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Athletics

- The applicant shall be one who follows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and can articulate the Gospel and their testimony in any situation.
- The applicant has a strong history of active participation, attendance, or membership in a church with doctrine and beliefs that are in alignment with the school’s Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality and have multiple references able to verify the same.
- The applicant will be able to articulate their plan to systematically use the game of basketball to disciple young people (Proverbs 22:6).
- The applicant will be able to give tangible evidence of investing in their community for God’s glory.
- The applicant shall be passionate about the school’s mission and believes that serving in Christian education would be pleasing to God and good stewardship of their gifts and talents.
General Personal & Professional Expectations:

Professional and Technical
- Previous basketball coaching or significant playing experience, preferably at the middle school or competitive level.
- Strong knowledge of the rules, regulations, and fundamentals of basketball.
- Possess the administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills required for success.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications, or a willingness to obtain them.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a systematic plan for using the game of basketball to disciple athletes daily.
- Plan and lead effective, age-appropriate practices focusing on the fundamentals of basketball.
- Assist the US Head Basketball Coach in implementing preseason, in-season, and offseason plans, including the promotion of summer camps.
- Develop practice and game schedules.
- Monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular participation.
- Oversee the care and storage of team equipment and uniforms.
- Ensure compliance with all GHAC (Greater Houston Athletic Conference) regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a gymnasium environment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, run, and demonstrate basketball-related movements.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move equipment (e.g., basketballs, training aids) weighing up to 50 lbs.
- The position regularly requires that work be performed during afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends during the basketball season.
Evaluation:
Performance of these responsibilities will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
