Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Math Specialist to support our Lower and Middle School math programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics education, a passion for guiding young learners, and a commitment to integrating Biblical principles into mathematics instruction, aligning with our mission to provide excellence in college preparatory Christian education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teacher Coaching and Support
- Coach Lower and Middle School teachers in implementing guided math strategies and best practices
- Provide professional development sessions on effective math instruction
- Assist teachers in aligning math curriculum with Biblical worldview integration
- Support teachers in data analysis and differentiated instruction planning
- Student Intervention
- Conduct small group pull-out sessions for students needing math intervention
- Develop and implement targeted intervention strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure continuity of support
- Curriculum Development and Resource Management
- Assist in selecting and developing math curricula and resources that align with FBCA's mission and values
- Ensure alignment of math instruction with FBCA standards and Biblical worldview
- Manage and organize math resources for teacher and student use
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid teaching certification with mathematics specialization
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching mathematics at elementary or middle school level
- Strong understanding of guided math strategies and current best practices in math education
- Experience in coaching or mentoring other educators
- Proficiency in using educational technology, IXL, Reflex Math, and math focused software
- Demonstrated ability to integrate Biblical worldview into academic instruction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development

- Professing Christian who is active in a local church
- Ability to articulate a personal Christian philosophy of education

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move around the classroom and school campus
- Capable of using computers and other educational technology
